The Fourth Set of Recollections is ready for our use for the year 2005 - 2006. Being the last set of recollections it has, as a culmination, the theme of Salesian spirituality: Response to God's Will. There couldn't be a better way to conclude the journey of Salesian reflections and living than by inviting us to show in deeds and life a transformed Salesian personality.

I am sure you will enjoy this journey of the soul to the highest peak of Salesian spirituality. Do not be dismayed if the evil one is at work to dissuade you from trudging this journey of Salesian mysticism of love. The evil one will dissuade you saying that it is not meant for you engaged in apostolic activity. The temptation will come in many and varied forms. Mountaineers tell us that when they are about to reach the peak of the mountain , clouds , bad weather ,and storms prevent them from seeing the peak of the mountain which is just near and above them and to give up their efforts to reach it. We need that last burst of will and determination, that extra courage and hope to make us go forward to reach that we have always longed for. The secret of the apostolic effectiveness and daring of St Francis de Sales and Fr. Mermier lay in the total devotion to the Holy Will of God embraced in its entirety in good times and bad times, in season and out of season. They serve as our beacon lights in our quest for being MSFS in today's world.

The work of the last 4 years on these 4 Sets of Recollections has been a fraternal gift of love from our three confreres: Fr Devasia Manalel, Fr Antony Mookenthottam and Fr Armind Nazareth. Surely you will join me in expressing to them our appreciation and regard for animating us with such Salesian delicacy and persuasion as becomes sons of St Francis de Sales. We ask God to increase in them the very gift of His love to which they have introduced us in the 4 Sets of Salesian Recollections.
