THE CALL OF THE GENERAL CHAPTER 2007

General Chapter 2007

To be a Revitalized Community for Mission

With deep-felt desire to radically follow Jesus, the first missionary and leader in all our missions and having prayerfully reflected on the emerging concerns and the 21 statements of the General Chapter 2007, we, the capitulants are moved by the thread of Grace that holds us together as well as moves us toward a future full of opportunities and possibilities for the fulfillment of our life and mission as Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales. We can and we will let our light shine. (Mt.5:16). We will focus on the following during the next six years.

Revitalize community life for a community based apostolate and a collective witness of our life as Fransalians.

Restructure administration of the congregation at all levels for efficient and effective governance and collective witness of our life as Fransalians.

Guided by the Gospel Values take a stand and move with prophetic courage and work toward the transformation of the world that is struggling with injustice, violence, war, poverty, hunger, disease, etc. With renewed vigour and enthusiasm, respond to the cry of the poor and the marginalized.

Make our formation Salesian in spirit, mission-oriented and people centred to grow as a community in mission.
