Fr. Devasia Kuzhupil

 

   Our Golden Jubilarian

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

Fr. Devasia Kuzhuppil was born on 25-7-1924 at Athirampuzha, Kerala, of Joseph and Anna. He did his schooling at St. Aloysius Primary School, Athirampuzha and St. Ephrem's High School, Mannanam. He joined St. Joseph's Mission Home, Thiruvalla, in 1942. He completed his philosophical studies at St.Joseph's Pontifical Seminary, Mangalapuzha, Alwaye, and joined MSFS Novitiate in 1947 at St. Ann's Cathedral, Visakhapatnam, and made his first profession in 1948. He had his theological studies at St. Joseph's Pontifical Seminary, Alwaye. After completing his theological studies, he was ordained a priest on 16-3-1952 by Rt. Rev. Ambrose Absolo, OCD, in his home parish. It was the first ordination at St. Mary's Church, Athirampuzha - a wellspring of several vocations.

 

Fr. Devasia Kuzhuppil has been personally involved in the growth of the MSFS Congregation, especially in the growth of Visakapatanam, North East, South   West,   and   East   Africa provinces.

Fr. Kuzhuppil is extremely happy that he has been abundantly blessed by God as a priest for the last fifty years. One thing that makes him feel proud is that he arduously promoted vocations that made much impact on the Congregation. The MSFS from the South have been able to cross the frontiers not only of Vizag but also of India. His sense of achievement, joy and satisfaction, make him stand against the evils of modernism and consumerism, promoting gentleness and simplicity of St. Francis de Sales.
