The spirituality of St. Francis de Sales is a “Spirituality of the Heart,” relevant today as in the time of St. Francis de Sales himself - an all-embracing, Down-to-earth Spirituality for everyone.

Global News

The traditional social organization of North-east India is tribal.  Each tribe has its own categories of hierarchy.  The linguistic difference is also very vast and complex. In spite of the diversity in race, culture, language, tradition, food, ideologies, the North-east India has several common characteristics.

For the province of the North-East India, the last six years has been a period of introspection, renewal, co-ordination and consolidation as well as a time of expansion of its missions. A concerted effort was made to sustain the missionary dynamism of the confreres, to coordinate the evangelization works and to build up the necessary infrastructure for an effective and fruitful functioning of the Province. Now the Province has come out from the geographical boundaries of the North-East India and has missions in the state of West Bengal in India, in the kingdom of Nepal, in the Republic of South Africa and Namibia.

We have also confreres who have received specialized training in various fields like printing technology, mechanical engineering, social work, youth animation, counselling and media communication. Responding to the concrete needs of the North-East India, we have a few confreres engaged in specialized ministries like preaching and healing ministry, youth ministry, jail ministry and imparting catechetical training to the church leaders of the various tribes. The Director of Social Work in the province also functions as the Regional Co-ordinator of the Prison Ministry in the North-East. Three other priests render service in the vocational training institutes wherein non-formal technical education is given to the tribal boys of North-East India.
