Diamonds are beautiful, mysterious and rare. Their qualities are as precious today as the moment they were formed billions of years ago. They have survived an incredible journey to reach us, transcending the forces of nature and of time itself. But only a small number of diamonds managed to survive this remarkable journey. Of those that did, only a tiny proportion that have been found are of size and quality that can be cut, polished and set into jewellery. This explains the value and power that each diamond holds in itself.

The works of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales are like diamonds, nay, even more precious than diamonds as they carry in them an eternal value since they are done at the call and behest of the eternal Lord ad Saviour, Jesus Christ. Hence, they need to be discovered, appreciated, and made known to our benefactors, friends, and well-wishers with whom we can praise our heavenly Father.

We are happy to present to you the wide and exquisite range of news from the MSFS missions the world over. As you turn the pages of the present issue of the Fransalian International, you will witness an array of brands that are in store for you, adhering to different tastes, styles and pockets. While the FI also joins the billions all over the world in mourning the eternal journey of His Holiness “the Great” Pope John Paul II, we prayerfully look forward to our beloved Pope Benedict XVI to lead the Church and His people into a more dynamic phase of involvement in world affairs and in the lives of the people around.
