The spirituality of St. Francis de Sales is a “Spirituality of the Heart,” relevant today as in the time of St. Francis de Sales himself - an all-embracing, Down-to-earth Spirituality for everyone.

Global News

Jan Vikas Society (JVS), a Public Trust, a ray of hope for the underprivileged children, was set up by the Fransalians in 1996. For offering services - hygiene, rest and recreation, literacy - to street children in rented rooms, in the vicinity of railway stations and slums, JVS in 1997 set up the Mermier Bal Ashram (MBA), a Rehabilitation Centre, in Kopar Khairane, the first of its kind to be established in Navi Mumbai, India. Within a short span of eight years, MBA has an illustrious track record. The Ashram houses around 50 street-boys. Besides providing them food, shelter and medical care in a family environment, it offers them, after due vocational guidance, academic education, or professional training, especially non-formal employment-oriented skills (printing, carpentry, welding, masonry, plumbing, etc.). JVS has also embarked on another programme of caring for street girl children. A home for street Girl children built in Panvel was inaugurated on November 21, 2004. The girl children are more vulnerable to physical and sexual abuse and other forms of exploitation when left uneducated.
