The spirituality of St. Francis de Sales is a “Spirituality of the Heart,” relevant today as in the time of St. Francis de Sales himself - an all-embracing, Down-to-earth Spirituality for everyone.

Growth in Hope and Confidence in ENGLAND

Global News

The scenario in the Province is that of greater hope and more confidence as one can see younger confreres amidst the senior ones enriching and being enriched by the way the confreres live their vocation in the given context of their lives in England. There are two scholastics in theology formation. Inter-province collaboration has given three more confreres to the Province, making it possible to take up ministry for Syro-Malabar Catholics in the Diocese of Clifton. Dispersed as the members are in small communities or as individuals, the Provincial, Fr Martin Griffin, gathers the confreres at regular intervals to share fraternal moments, reflection and prayer. The response has been good and the fruits of such gatherings by way of unity and understanding are there for all to see. These meetings will further unfold to the confreres the joy and strength of our vocation as MSFS and assist them to remain united and thus attract local vocations to our Fransalian way of life. The confreres live their Fransalian way of life mostly in pastoral ministry; one confrere is fully engaged in counselling, guidance and spiritual animation. Pastoral ministry also involves taking care of the sick in hospitals, attending to teaching of catechism of children in schools. There is scope for specialized ministry with a lot of immigrant workers coming into England. Also affluence has created new social, psychological and spiritual problems and situations that demand skilled handling of people. Confreres blessed with special charisms and training will have a wide scope for new ministries in the rapidly changing situation of England.
