  Second Decade of the Tening Parish

St Francis de Sales Parish, Tening, one of the hill Parishes in the southernmost part of Nagaland in the district of Peren among the Zeliang tribe, completes the second decade of its existence. The various pastoral activities of the Parish - frequent village visits, conducting of liturgical services (especially the celebration of the Holy Eucharist) and prayer meetings in the villages, Bible sharing, preaching tours, primary medical assistance to the sick, and education of the village-children through the SFS School - have already contributed much to an all-round well-being of the people of the area.   Events at Purul

Lepaona Parish, known as Purual Parish, comprising of six villages, 25 km away from Imphal in Manipur, India, was the venue of such recent events as the Poumai Women's Congress, the Parents' Day, and seminar on faith education meant for the catechists of the three Manipur parishes of the MSFS Congregation organized by F: Biju Kanicherry and Fr Michael Chottakara at Holy Rosary School, Purul.   All Saints' School, Peren, celebrates School Day

All Saints' High School, Peren, celebrated its School Day with the inauguration and dedication of the newly built multi-purpose building on October 7, 2005 in the esteemed presence of Rev. Fr Abraham Mullenkuzhy, the Provincial of North East Province, Shri Toshi Aier, the Principal Secretary, R.D. Government of Nagaland, Shri Mikha Lomi D.C. of Peren District and Shri Robert SDO (Civil) Peren. The Provincial in his address exhorted the assembly to overcome the compartmentalization of learning and to enhance the all-round development of the person in his/her mind, heart and skills. The parents' representative acknowledged and appreciated the commendable service the school has rendered to the people of the locality through education and socio-pastoral ministry. While thanking all for their wholehearted co-operation, Fr Kurian, the Principal, appealed to the parents to continue to render their valuable support for the success of the ministry. Back to top

  School Day Celebrations at SFS School, Medziphema

St Francis De Sales Hr Sec. School, Medziphema, celebrated its School Day on October 3, 2005 with much fanfare and gaiety. The day was the culmination of much hard work and toil put up by the school authorities, Fr Tomy Moonnanapallil (the Principal), Fr Samuel Patton (the vice-Principal), teachers and students. While His Excellency Shri Shyamal Dutta, the Governor of Nagaland, graced the occasion as chief guest, Colonel R.K. Dewan, commandant of 9th Assam Rifles, was the guest of honour at the function.
