The spirituality of St. Francis de Sales is a “Spirituality of the Heart,” relevant today as in the time of St. Francis de Sales himself - an all-embracing, Down-to-earth Spirituality for everyone.

Eucharistic Procession in Pastoral Zone 7 of the Archdiocese of Maputo

The day July 31, 2005 was a historical and memorable day for the faithful of Catembe and Matutuine Missions (=districts). The parish of SFS, Bela-Vista, together with the NS das Merces of Catembe organized the first ever Public Eucharistic procession. It was organized to mark the Eucharistic year and to give a public witness to our Catholic faith. The procession was meticulously planned, the people of Bela-Vista travelled down in five trucks to the district of Catembe: The 'comunidade da Santa Teresinha', the oldest mission station in the district of Catembe was the venue from where the procession began.

It was a remarkable event especially as it was for the first time in the history of the mission. Having walked down three miles together, the procession came to an end in the parish church of Catembe. The people from both districts expressed their deep sentiments of gratitude for the meaningful and spiritually enriching procession. The Mission Superior, on behalf of all our confreres, thanked and appreciated the parishioners for their cooperation and enthusiasm. Fr Mathews Kodamullil and Fr Prabhudas Kujur were the celebrants who animated the procession together with the comissoes of both the parishes.

Hearty Welcome to Fr Matthew Thayil and Bro. Rajesh Jayseelan

The Mozambique mission continues to confront several challenges! One of the major problems of the mission is to meet the growing demand for priests and missionaries. The harvest is plenty but the labourers are few! To respond to this urgent need of missionaries, the Mozambique mission-team is glad to receive two more volunteers in the persons of Fr Matthew Thayil and Bro. J. Rajesh. As we offer them hearty welcome and hearty congratulations the mission team is enriched, indeed reinforced by their presence.

Vocation Camp at Matola

Our team at Casa Fransalianos, Matola, organized a day for all the vocacionados of the Amparo parish. There were 14 youth. They had talks, discussions, group games, and personal meetings. We were helped by Fr Jairus and Sr Jenevive. Do join in our prayer and efforts at encouraging the vocacionados to join us.

Starting of the Association of the Apostolate of Prayer at Bela-Vista

After a three month long preparation the group was installed officially on 21st August the birthday of St Francis de Sales after a night-long vigil supported by the 33 members from Catembe under the leadership of Mamana Asousana. The investiture and oath-taking ceremonies were indeed very touching.

Orientation Course for Team of Animators of the Advent-retreat in Ronga

Bro. Jose Pinto of St Pius X animated a two-days-long orientation course for the animators of the Advent-retreat (to be held in all the sub-centres) based on "Eu Creio," the translation of the famous book 'Je Crois Petit Catechisme Catolique.'
