Silver Jubilee Celebrations of St Paul's Parish, Peren

 

In 1980, Peren, a district of Nagaland, India, inhabited by the Zeliang-tribe, became a separate Parish, with a number of substations, entrusted to the Missionaries of St Francis de Sales. St Paul's Parish celebrated its Silver Jubilee on January 10, 2005. A solemn Eucharistic celebration, the summit of all celebrations, was presided over by Rt. Rev. Jose Mukala, the Bishop of Kohima, followed by a solemn Eucharistic Procession. Coupled with the Jubilee, the 20th Zeliang Convention, attended by delegates from various parts of Assam, Manipur, and Nagaland and animated by a team of speakers from the local community, was organized on January 8-11, 2005, by Fr Kurian Ovelil, Fr Roy Muthedathu, and the Rev. Sisters.

 

 

 

  

 

Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Dhemaji Mission

 

The skies of Dhemaji, Assam, turned silver as the MSFS Mission, SFS Parish and SFS School celebrated its Silver Jubilee on November 6-7,2004, with much pomp and gaiety fitting to the occasion. On November 7, the Catholics of Dhemaji Parish under the aegis of Fr Jose Mundoly, Fr Hriini Mark, Fr Shiji Poonthuruthil, and the Sacred Heart Sisters rejoiced and thanked the Lord for the manifold graces they had been receiving for the past 25 years. The faithful gathered as one family, from various neighbouring villages and substations, for the thanksgiving Mass presided over by the Vicar General of the Diocese of Tezpur.
