Kids soar high...

Children were always welcome by Jesus.

Innocent children can easily fly to God

contrast to the men burdened with sin

(Ref. St. Francis de Sales ,

Introduction to the Devout Life, Part I, Chapter 1)

In 2002, the Fransalians began the ministry to rehabilitate street children or children who live in a vulnerable environment. We help them with shelter, medical treatment, proper hygiene, clothing, counselling, school education, skills training, recreational facilities and family reunification. Every child has the right to a happy and carefree childhood.

We believe that every child needs a safe haven, a place to try out dreams and let the imagination soar. We believe that every child needs a place to express oneself in safety and dignity and to discover who one is and what one loves. It will help their holistic growth and a balanced development. . It is our task to provide this.

Our Four Ways for Life Forwards!

Our ministry for the unfortunate children is carried out mainly in the following manner.

Residential Programme

At present 33 children reside at the centre. They are provided with food, shelter, clothing, education, medication, training in arts, sports, acrobatics, dances, personality development etc. All are provided with the possibilities of formal education or vocational training.

Drop in Programme

45 children daily visit our centre for tuitions, food, bath etc. We help them also with educational equipments. Many of them are made ready to start their primary schooling next year. These are children from the Leper’s Colony, orphans; or physically or mentally retarded children.

Village Sponsoring Programme

Nearly 120 needy children (mostly orphans) are assisted to go to school in three places, Itaga, Igambilo, Migangoni and Ipuli. They are provided with educational equipments and medication. We visit their houses and schools to promote their growth. All of them attend primary schools.

Awareness making Programme

Here we organize seminars in the schools on topics like Anti HIV/AIDS seminars; Conduct programmes to advocate child rights; arrange for competitions for children to motivate them to excel. Above all, we try to provide these kids with value based education only which can guarantee them a prosperous future and enable them to be responsible citizens.

A word of Gratitude

We the children and the staff

of the St. Francis de Sales children’s Home Ipuli,

thank whole heartedly all our well wishers and supporters.

In a special way we thank the children

who through their little sacrifices help us.

May God bless you all.

Your friends in Tabora, Tanzania
