How wonderful was that day!

A word of Appreciation and thanks!

Hi every one! Praised be Our Lord Jesus! I am Anna Peter Linje, a student of the Sokoine University of Morogoro, Tanzania. This short note I write on behalf of the Catholic students’ Community of our university campus.  Ever since we are students of this university, we have been associating with the Fransalians in Morogoro. Many are the ways in which they help us in our lives and on our journey to Christian and Human perfection.

None of us can deny the fact that Fransalian House is a Home for all. Just give a ring or just drop in. There is always some one to receive us, to listen to us to enlighten us. Being students of secular science, we need very much the touch of the Spirit. In the campus there is the real hunger for Truth and the Word of God. There are people who frantically search of real meaning and correct orientations in life. The various programmes organized by the Fransalian fathers and Brothers for us, are proper and effective responses to such needs. Such programmes have almost become part of our normal schedule of the year.

Days set apart for Recollection and renewal,   spirituality seminars, occasional Eucharistic Celebrations in the Campus, Inspiring and interesting Talks on the occasion of the ‘joint prayer sessions’ etc offered by the Fransalians are clear signs of God’s love for us. There is always the possibility for the sacrament of reconciliation and counselling. The participation in the spirituality seminars is a “free gift” for us as we are charged nothing. They also make available for us lot of Christian literature in English and in Swahili and devotional articles at very reasonable rate.

FRANSALIAN HOUSE IS OUR HOUSE TOO!

To particularize, the last event of this sort took place on October 14, 2006. It was a day of spiritual renewal organized by the Fransalians in Kola. 130 of us – some non-Catholic too- spend the whole day at Fransalian House, Kola. Among the other things offered, there were very inspiring input sessions from Rev. Fr. Sabino OCD and Rev. Fr. Sunny Vettickal MSFS. They talked to us convincingly of our dignity as the children of God, on the beauty of the sacrament of reconciliation and the need for inner healing. The Brothers had arranged almost 10 priests to facilitate confession and counseling.  There was also a session of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and inner healing during which many experienced the power of the Holy Spirit. The programmes came to an end with the Most Holy Eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr. Johnson Kallidukil msfs the Director of the Fransalian Communications.

Surely we also enjoyed the hospitality and good will of Fransalians throughout the day. It was a Tabor experience for us and like the Apostles some of us said, “It is good to be here.” But we know it is not the place of us to pitch our tents. We are challenged to live to the full the values communicated to us; to be standing firm for our true convictions and to be faithful to the resolutions we have made.

In a special way we thank the Brothers and Fr. Johnson of Fransalian Communications for this day and for all that they do for us in spite of their busy schedule. Our collaboration and association with you give us new enthusiasm and new direction for us.

Our only prayer for you is: May God bless you all and you continue to cooperate with His Grace to communicate God’s love to this broken world.

Miss. Anna Peter Linje
