A new Era for Tabora

OFFICIAL INAUGURATION OF

ST. FRANCIS DE SALES MISSION SCHOOL

Ipuli, Tabora, Tanzania

 

 

A new era dawned in Tabora when on May 6, 2006 folks of all walks of life from Tabora and surroundings; friends and well wishers of Fransalians; many MSFS confreres; priests and religious staff and pupils of S.F.S School witnessed a major event in Tabora. It was the blessing and opening of the St. Francis de Sales Mission School (in photo below) and the exuberant celebrations as part of it.

The people were overwhelmed with joy to welcome the chief guest of the day Hon (Ms.) Gaudentia M. Kabaka (MP) Deputy Minister of science, Technology and Higher education (in photo below). Rev. Fr.Daniel Malingumu the Administrator of the Archdiocese of Tabora blessed the new school building.

On the previous day i.e., on May 5,  2006 Mr. Werner Muller, the President of Salesan, Switzerland laid foundation stone for pre- primary section. Rev. Fr. Thomas Olickal MSFS the Provincial Superior officially opened the newly built residence for the St. Joseph sisters of Anecy who administer and form the staff in the new school. Rev. Fr. Danial Malingumu the administrator of the Archdiocese of Tabora blessed the residence of the sisters.

 

The occasion was blessed with the presence of other dignitaries like Rev. Fr. Augustine Mangatt MSFS the Mission coordinator for Africa and one of the General Counsellors, the Regional Education Officer of Tabora, District Commissioner, Hon. Mayer of Tabora, Municipal Education officer, Zonal Inspector of Education, MSFS confreres, other priests, religious, parents and teachers.

The chief guest praised the Fransalians for their commitment in raising the educational standard of Tabora. She assured all the possible assistance from the government. The school started to function in January 2006 with an intake of over 300 pupils in the very first year.

 

Fr. Thomas Chozhithara MSFS

Rev. Fr. Thomas Chozhithara MSFS is the former director of St. Francis de Sales Children’s Home Ipuli, Tabora and the former Manager of S.F.S. Mission School Ipuli. He was the initiator of Foster (Fransalian Organization for Social Transformation, Education and Renewal) and of the S.F.S. Mission School Ipuli.  He is succeeded by Rev. Fr. C. Arockiasamy MSFS.
