Transfer of the Mortal Remains of Fr. Peter Mary Mermier
On the 20th of June, the
mortal remains of our Founder Fr. MERMIER and those of Bishop REY were
transferred from our propriety of Proupeine to the crypt of the Visitation
Basilica. The Bishop of Annecy, Mgr Yves Boivineau, presided over the
Eucharistic celebration, along with three other Bishops, our Superior General,
some Provincial Superiors and a lot of confreres from many Provinces. The
Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod and St Joseph of Annecy were also present as
well as lay people close to our Congregation. The feast went on with a buffet in
the front of the Basilica.
Perpetual Profession of Bro. Raphaël MERCIER
Renewal of Vows of Bros. Juan SEPULVEDA and Joseph TOAN
On the 15th September, a
large crowd of confreres, families and friends were gathered at Annecy, Basilica
of the Visitation, to attend the perpetual profession of Bro. Raphaël MERCIER.
Two other scholastics, Bro Juan SEPULVEDA (Chile Mission) and Bro. Joseph TOAN
(Franco-Swiss) renewed their vows on the same day. It was a very special event
for our Province, for we didn’t have any perpetually professed scholastic since
10 years. Bro. Mercier is very well known at Annecy, and he is a special friend
of the Visitation Sisters, who rejoiced to welcome this solemn mass in their
Basilica.

are working in.
Provincial Congress of
Franco-Swiss Province
The provincial Congress of
Franco-Swiss was held on the 9th of October at Annecy. About 30 confreres were
present, among them 5 of the 7 Indian confreres now members of the Province
(those of Poland mission couldn’t come). After the morning prayer and greetings,
the Provincial and the Bursar gave their reports, open to discussion. In the
afternoon, three Councillors, the Admonitor and the Bursar were elected, wiz
Frs. Yves Carron (Admonitor), Camille Meynet and Viju Mathew K. Fr. Le Tué was
elected once more as Bursar.
The Congress went on with a
witness from Sister Odile Vaudaux, Sr of the Cross of Chavanod, who helped us to
reflect on the reception of the General Chapter. The concluding mass, at the
crypt of the Visitation basilica, was presided over by Fr. Fournier, Provincial
; he encouraged each one of us to be at the same time Martha and Mary, men of
prayer and action (gospel of the day).
