SFS College: Aalo
The North East India Province of the Fransalians took a bold
Missionary step in establishing an Arts College – SFS
College- at Aalo in West Siang District of Arunachal
Pradesh. Incidentally, it is also our first stride into the
field of Higher Education. The college began in August,
2007, with the honourable Home minister of the State
inaugurating the building and the Bishop of Itanagar, Rt.
Rev. Dr. John Thomas D.D, blessing the Building along with
Rev. Fr. Abraham Mullenkuzhy msfs, the Provincial of
North-east India Province.
The College began functioning under the able leadership and
guidance of Principal Fr. Dr. George Parampukattil msfs, the
first Principal. Other three confreres served in the
institution in the first year. The second year saw addition
of many new faces in the teaching staff including a new
principal for the college in the person of Fr. Jose
Karipadam msfs. The Adoration sisters joined the staff of
the college along with few lay staff. With addition of new
subjects and streams the strength of teaching staff has
risen to ten and the number of students to hundred and
fifty. The college, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University
Itanagar, has its motto as “Light to Enlighten”.
